Me Time Japan in Tama was born from our desire to introduce readers to the underappreciated areas of Tokyo. While many visitors explore Tokyo through well-known districts such as Asakusa, Ginza, and Shibuya, we focus on the culture that exists beyond the 23 wards. Tama, located in western Tokyo and encompassing 30 cities and towns, offers a quieter side of Tokyo shaped by nature, traditional crafts, and local communities. It is an area rich in everyday culture and unique experiences, yet often overlooked.
Through interviews, travel stories, and local recommendations, we share the people and places that make Tama special. Our aim is to help visitors discover a lesser-known, more local side of Tokyo. We hope these stories inspire you to explore Tama and connect with the people who call it home.
